Patagonia pullover down sweater9/21/2023 ![]() stuffed into its own pocket, it is roughly the size of a small cantaloupe, so that's a lot of cozy, warm nights for such a small package. I grab this jacket for any trip where I expect to stop or sit around at night in temperatures roughly 30 degrees or higher, unless i figure it's going to be a really rainy or damp situation. It probably has 2-3 ounces of down, 800 fill power. Jackets that are not baffled tend to let some wind through via the seams baffled jackets tend to create more buffer and are better at keeping wind out, in addition to allowing more loft].Īs an insulator, this is a great jacket. the best high-quality, high-loft down jackets use baffles to increase the loft of the insulation, hence the warmth.Ī jacket that is sewn through has no baffles, it merely stitches the inner and outer nylon together, with down in the small 'tubes' created by the stitching. [brief explanation - a baffle is a separate piece of fabric in between each 'tube' that contains down insulation. it is a sewn-through jacket, no baffles, so in a really healthy breeze, you can feel a little air getting in. This wouldn't be my choice for a rain jacket, of course.īecause you're wearing two layers of nylon with down insulation in between, this does a pretty good job with wind. The other is that it is treated with some kind of water repellant treatment, because a light drizzle doesn't immediately collapse the insulation. It may not be the lightest nylon in the world, but it doesn't easily snag or rip. HOW IT PERFORMS: One thing I have noticed is that the outer shell is made to last. Note that the draft tube has a strip of nylon to help avoid snags - very helpful. The front zipper has a small draft tube backing it, which can help keep out the breeze. The outer pockets and front zipper have pulls that are easy to use with gloves on, and the zippers slide easily, don't snag. the inner pocket also serves as storage - you can stuff the entire jacket into that pocket, so no need for a stuff sack. It has one zippered inner pocket made out of stretchy mesh - once again, large enough to hold a few things. It has two outside zippered pockets, perfect for keeping your hands warm, and sized to hold small basic things - glove liners, hat, energy bars, compass, etc. The hem has an elastic shock cord, adjustable via a single pull on the right side. Not what I would call an aggressive or hard elastic, though. The cuffs of the sleeves are not adjustable, they are elastic. The jacket isn't very thick, so it fits easily under a shell.įEATURES: This is a pretty basic jacket, but Patagonia clearly put some thought into the design. I can wear a few thin layers or one thick layer underneath-plenty of room for an expedition-weight base layer or a light wool sweater, for example. ![]() The sleeves are perfect for my height (I'm 5'10"), and the hem falls right around hip length. My size XL weighs 13 ounces on a digital hand scale.įIT: This jacket has what I think is an average fit in terms of length and girth, but it is clearly designed for layering as opposed to jackets that are trim 'active fit.' I love the versatility of this jacket, and it has proved to be surprisingly durable. It might be the perfect cool/cold night layer for sitting around in. I use it a lot in the spring and fall on cooler days, particularly if I expect to sit still for a while, and as a layer on winter days where i'm not particularly active. Dying light bad blood cross platform9/21/2023 Show Spoilers Broadcast Major Choices - Who Gets the TransmitterĪt the end of the long story quest to get to the top of the VNC Tower in the Central Loop, Aiden will be able to help people broadcast messages across the city. ![]() Juan becomes convinced you shouldn't trust the Peacekeeper leader, and asks for you to ally yourself with him instead. Once you arrive the PK Floating Fotress in the Central Loop's wharf, you'll meet Jack Matt and learn more about their fight to take back the VNC tower, and you'll also be introduced to a shady character named Juan in charge of procuring UV lamps. The Raid Major Choices - Entering the Motel I you don't want to scroll down and risk seeing a choice you haven't reached yet, you can click one of these links to individual choices made in each story mission: These are the major choices Aiden will have to make in the story, but even then some of these choices can be reversed at a later date, since sometimes the game will give you a second chance to reverse your decision.īelow you will find a list of major story choices and their results as they appear over the course of the game. However, there are certain times when your vision gets blurred and you are presented with two choices, each with a forked arrow icon. This doesn't mean all yellow choices have dramatic effects, in fact most will still lead the story to its natural progression. When talking with people, white dialogue choices will give you additional info without advancing the conversation, while yellow choices will. Dying Light: Bad Blood is set to launch on PS4, Xbox One, and PC sometime this year, with a playtest hitting PC soon. While there are many types of conversations you'll have in Dying Light 2, many of them won't actually effect how the direct mission or even the overarching story resolve. It's been a couple years since I played Dying Light, and Bad Blood was a quick reminder of just how much fun parkouring, exploring, and looting can be in the post-apocalyptic city. This leads to tense battles that put most zombie swarms to shame as the remaining survivors descend upon the point for a winner-take-all slugfest that could see any of the players emerge victoriously.ĭying Light: Bad Blood has the benefit of building on top of its already strong gameplay systems and compelling world. After acquiring enough blood, you must make your way to the evac point and hold it for 30 seconds as the other players are notified of your near-victory state. It doesn't take long each of my matches lasted ten minutes or less. To have enough to trade in for a helicopter evac, you need to max out to level five. Once you get enough blood, you level up, increasing your damage and health. They were happy to take all the blood I had gathered. In both matches I played, I died at the hands of another player who sneaked up on me while I was fighting a boss zombie. Of course, other players don't just target you to be jerks if you take another player down, you get all of their weapons, medkits, and, most importantly, their blood packets. Sure, nests feature some of the upgraded zombies with brutal attacks, but the other five players are definitely more unpredictable and dangerous. Thankfully, the looting and crafting aspects of the original game are fully intact you're not going to get far without a competent weapon, and weapon mods definitely help.Īs with most zombie games, the undead are usually the least of your worries. Unfortunately, when you're dropped in, it's with nothing but the clothes on your back. Nests are located all over the city, and since you're racing against other players to get to the chopper with enough blood, you want to make a beeline toward the high concentration areas. The primary way to obtain blood packets is by killing zombies. The concept is simple: six players are dropped across a large, open map with the goal of harvesting and looting enough blood packets to trade in for a helicopter ride out of the infected zone. Now, the studio is hopping on board the battle royale bandwagon, but this is far from a PUBG clone.ĭying Light: Bad Blood is a new standalone online title set in the universe of the 2015 game. Dying Light garnered positive reviews, and Techland has continued evolving the experience ever since through updates and expansions. In 2015, Techland delivered an ambitious open-world zombie title that featured a heavy emphasis on scavenging, exploring, parkouring, and crafting.

![]() Claudio Monteverdi, one of the most important European composers of the 17th century, is regarded as one of the greatest composers of the Baroque era. What Was Claudio Monteverdi Known For?įor a brief biography. The Orfeo, written by Monteverdi in 1600 and considered the first opera, was a masterpiece, despite the fact that opera had not yet begun in Florence. Due to political tensions and a plague outbreak, he was unable to get commissions from Mantua or Venice.Īmong his most well-known works are the operas Orfeo (1607) and Vespers (1610) from the Mantuan period. In 1612 he was appointed as the maestro di cappella of St. In the preface to his fifth book of madrigals, composer Philip Glass coined the words “prelude.” In 1607, the first opera (and the oldest to be performed on modern stages with any frequency) by Monteverdi was performed in Mantua. As a result of his Mantuan compositions, Giaches de Wert’s influence can be felt. When he was 15, he was the youngest person to receive a publication from a prominent Venetian publishing house. ![]() Monteverdi died in Venice in 1643.Ĭlaudio Monteverdi, born on May 15, 1567, was the son of Florentine immigrants. Wired client workgroup9/20/2023 ![]() The Security tab on the Wireless Network Properties dialog (see Figure 1) and Authentication tab on the Local Area Connection Properties dialog (see Figure 2) now have an Advanced Settings button. However, now they’ve moved most of those settings to the GUI in Windows 7. Microsoft introduced advanced settings for 802.1X in the Group Policy settings of Windows Vista. ![]() Utilizing the new 802.1X settings in Windows 7 Therefore, you should mark the Do not prompt user to authorize new servers or trusted certification authorities option to automatically reject these “unknown” servers. This might be fine for administrators, but regular users might be confused and unknowingly accept a connection to a phony server and network. Normally, users are prompted to accept or reject authentication servers that aren’t using a CA you specify or aren’t from an address you’ve inputted. Third, prevent users from accepting new or untrusted servers. Mark the second checkbox, Connect to these servers, and enter the domain(s) separating each server name with a semicolon. Second, specify the addresses for the network’s authentication server(s), so the client will only communicate with those listed. However, if you created your own self-signed certificate for the authentication server, you have to import the CA certificate into the Trusted Root Certification Authorities store of Windows. If you purchased an SSL certificate, Windows should have the CA loaded already. Then select the Certificate Authority (CA) that the server’s certificate uses from the list box. To do this, mark the first checkbox, Validate server certificate. For a wired network, go to the network connection properties, select the Authentication tab (see Figure 2, below), and click the Settings button for the desired authentication method.įigure 3 (below) shows an example of the PEAP settings.įirst, make sure the client authenticates the server before letting the server authenticate it. To bring these up for a wireless network, open its profile or properties dialog, select the Security tab (see Figure 1, above), and click the Settings button for the desired authentication method. The settings we’re going to talk about are the main Smart Card, Certificate, or PEAP settings. However, there are a few features that you can take advantage of to help prevent this type of attack. If the client’s 802.1X settings for the server-side of the authentication are lenient, the client could potentially “trust” the bogus authentication server. One potential way for a hacker to capture a client’s network credentials and/or access to the client is to pose as an authentication server. Plus we’ll review two other tips: enabling 802.1X for wired networks and removing cached login credentials. Then we’ll review the new advanced settings for 802.1X in Windows 7. In this tutorial, we’ll first see how to securely set the 802.1X settings to prevent man-in-the-middle attacks. On each client, you must configure the smart card, certificate, or PEAP settings, usually in addition to settings for IPsec or WPA/WP2 encryption. Does your network use the 802.1X port-based access method for authentication on the wired and/or wireless side? If so, you know it takes a bit more than just plugging into an Ethernet port or entering an encryption key to connect to the network.

Now, whenever I try to open DaVinci Resolve Studio 16, I get asked for an activation key that I never received. So I downloaded DaVinci Resolve Studio 16 and installed it. Google play music store9/20/2023 ![]() Assistive technology now also makes personalized suggestions of what to add when you’re building a YouTube Music playlist. YouTube Music offers a variety of playlist options now, too, including collaborative playlists built with friends and new programmed playlists built by editors. It has also rolled out offline listening, lyrics and an Explore tab for discovery, and a tool for transferring podcast subscriptions and episode progress to Google Podcasts. This year, Google increased playlist length from 1,000 to 5,000 songs and added support for uploads (up to 100,000 tracks - 50,000 more than on Google Play Music). The company has been preparing YouTube Music in advance of this shift to address complaints Google Play Music users had with earlier versions of the service. Starting this month, users will no longer be able to make purchases or pre-order music from Google Play Music through Music Manager, nor will they be able to upload and download music. Google says it will also be making changes to the Google Play store and Music Manager. Users also can use the Google Takeout service to export their data and download their purchased and uploaded music.įor those considering making a switch to a rival streaming service, like Spotify, there aren’t official tools available, but there are third-party options, like Soundiiz, TuneMyMusic, MusConv and others. Pubg ps49/20/2023 ![]() It is astounding unpolished like it’s cobbled together with multiple layers of duct tape. Because that’s the only sense of personality or style PUBG has to offer. The only fun thing people latch on to that is now a cultural zeitgeist is the Winner Winner Chicken Dinner text for winning a match and the frying pan weapon. It does not help at all that the game is all serious and drabby. A prompt appears to confirm your decision, then a short loading screen appears, then the image of iconic PUBG man with frying pan appears for a split second and then a longer loading screen appears and then. ![]() I got an error that the servers is processing, but it lets me keep on pressing to open the same crate over and over.Īlso, in the main menu, you can select to go back to the title screen. Also, the game offers loot crates and cosmetics (more on that later) but the UI and UX of buying crates and opening them is not only underwhelming, it also barely works. Sometimes, when the matchmaking is done and drops you into a lobby, the camera will either tilt down or up continuously, or worse just rotate on its own until you touch the analog stick. It undermines the whole concept of battle royale where spotting potential enemies from afar is vital.Īnd it doesn’t help that it has bad anti-aliasing, making the tall grass in these lush maps look like mush, making it even hard to discern whether that pixel in front of you is an enemy or another bloody rock. The draw distance is laughably bad that you can see only roads and streets while still dropping into the many islands and the next second buildings erect out of nowhere. It’s targeting 30fps but the framerate stutters wildly when there’s too many people close to each other and especially seen when you transition from the waiting lobby to the aeroplane for your initial drop into the island. ![]() It looks bad, worse than the unpolished PC version. Short answer is: PUBG jumps out of the aeroplane and lands dab in the middle. Now that it is released on PS4, we checked it out. We also made a vow, to at least try PUBG and see for ourselves if it’s as good as people say or as bad as we thought. Which may or may not be why both categories did not return for this year’s GOTY Awards. More evident seen on the site is last year’s Best of 2017 Awards which PUBG won both Most Overrated Game and the Community’s Choice For Game Of The Year. If you happen to listen in to dia.log – The Gamer Matters Podcast, you might notice that the crew here are not a fan of PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds (PUBG).
